1) What to expect for our January 25th Meetup

7pm - 10pm

If this is your first time attending a meetup...THANK YOU. It's just so easy stay home and watch Netflix / Reddit / Literally do anything else. Specially when the weather is a bit colder than usual. I commend you for taking the first step and getting out of your comfort zone.

Having said that, here are some tips on what to expect + a few upcoming events

What to Expect

I'll be at Roque Pub on January 25th around 6:30pm. Address is 3076 Curry Ford Rd, Orlando, FL 32806. Official event starts at 7pm, but feel free to show up early if you want to.

This is how I feel inside every time I host

I'll take over the tables on the right side as you come into the pub. I'll be wearing a blue shirt.
We'll start icebreakers at 7:15pm so we can all get to know each other. Every one will have a chance to speak and introduce themselves.
If the idea of introducing yourself makes you nervous...don't worry! I make the icebreakers fun and easygoing.
After the first icebreaker, we have free form conversation throughout. I really like Rogue Pub because of the high top tables and how easy it is to move around.
We'll have a second icebreaker at 9pm. We'll take a group picture soon after.

My goal is for you to have this moment with at least one person each time

The "official" meetup is usually done at 10pm. However, it's not uncommon for a few of us to hang out until midnight, maybe even go for an Arepa after :)
Starting 2024 we are alternating Thursdays and Fridays every 2 weeks. The January 25th one is on a Thursday, so folks may not stay out too late. We'll do a 2nd Friday / 4th Thursday cadence until May '24 and reconsider then what works best.
The February 9th one will be on a Friday and you can RSVP for it here.

Hello! I am a Competitive Intelligence professional and host of the podcasts "Latinos Who Tech" and "Conexiones: Latinos in Tech". I've been hosting in person meetups since 2014. I also make some amazing garlic sauce for arepas, but I digress.

I have a background in Electronics Engineering and a passion for entrepreneurship, In my podcasts I share conversations with other Latinos in the tech industry and practical advice for professionals wanting to take their career to the next level.
